Longtime lead singer, guitar player and front person for the alternative pop band the Cucumbers, Deena also fronts her own band Deena and The Laughing Boys. "Somewhere in Blue" her most recent CD received airplay around the world and rave reviews.
The Cucumbers, based in Hoboken, NJ, were formed by Deena with her husband and co-writer Jon Fried, found a home in the independent pop scene. Their very first song, "My Boyfriend" became a hit on the college radio charts, leading to national tours, videos on MTV, reviews in Rolling Stone, People Magazine and other national media. Singer-songwriters with rock and roll energy, their charming blend of 80s new wave, 70s folk rock and 60s girl group pop stylings won them fans wherever they traveled.
