Richard's professional career in music began as a pianist/arranger in bands and studios in and around New York City. He has performed with such great artists as Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Patti Austin and Nell Carter, to name a few.

Through his company, The Dovetail Group, Richard, along with his wife and partner, producer/director Gerri Brioso, has written, arranged and produced music for... [More] CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, PBS, USA Network,The CW, Nickelodeon, Muzak, A&E, VH1, MTV, HBO, Cinemax, Disney, Warner Bros., Sony, Apple and Microsoft.

Their music has been heard on shows such as How I Met Your Mother, American Idol, House, Saturday Night Live, Let's Make A Deal, Better Off Ted, Royal Pains, Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, The Closer, America's Got Talent , So You Think You Can Dance, The X-Files, American Pickers, as well as promos for Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, 20/20, General Hospital and Jimmy Kimmel, and on national commercials for Mastercard Priceless, Avon, Subway, Dairy Queen, I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Toys R Us, Mattel, as well as video games such as BioShock 2 and Ascent.

Their body of work, numbering well over 1200 pieces, is broadcast in some 60 countries and has garnered 3 Emmy nominations, two Grammy nominations and 7 International Telly Awards.
